COMMON MISTAKES A LEADER SHOULD AVOID

Being a leader comes with a lost of responsibilities including handling workplace issues and setting a good example for your employees. A leader is often held up to high expectations, as the person in charge and managing an entire team of people can be very intimidating but no one is perfect and there’s always room for changes or improvements.
Here are the 3 common mistakes a leader should avoid:

LACK OF VISION: As a leader, it’s your responsibility to set goals and expectations for your company in addition to holding each team member accountable for reaching them. Lack of vision will result into inaccurate metrics for success, unfocused projects, improper resource planning etc. A company without lack of vision will have difficulty in progression.

NO ROOM FOR EMPLOYEE FEEDBACK: Avoiding feedbacks from employees is a common leadership mistakes. Some leaders offer employee feedback only during performance review and this can cause a major problem among the employees or in the company as a whole. As a leader create an environment that encourages continuously feedback.

NOT ADAPTING TO INNIVATION/TECHNOLOGY: Innovation is different for every company and each person in it, as a leader, you need to define what it looks like to your organization and what obstacles might impede it. As a leader, it’s important to trust your employees with the processes.

Lastly, leaders must act as role models and lead by examples.
